Your counselor is always there to talk to you!
They can help you with:
Planning your schedule. Course requests and changes will go through your counselor.
Anything going on at home, school, etc.
As you get closer to graduation, they will be helpful resource for college planning
Getting to know your counselor and making sure they know you will be important for college. Don't be afraid to talk to them!
Reach out to your teachers with any concerns you might have. It's okay to be honest with them and let them know if you are struggling to understand a concept. They are here to help you learn! If you're having trouble you can:
Have office hour meetings with your teacher during lunch. Most teachers will notify you of when their office hours are, so be sure to check with them!
Discuss meetings with your teacher before or after school where you can ask for additional help, go over missed test questions, etc.
This is also a good way to build a relationship with your teachers, which will be helpful as you in the future.
Teachers can be another resource you can turn to if there is anything going on at home. If it is affecting your studies, it is okay to let them know so they can help you.
Many WCHS Honor Societies offer tutoring from upperclassmen.
English Honor Society, Math Honor Society, and Science Honor Society all offer lunchtime/after school tutoring.
