Tryouts

Poms is danced based and requires knowledge of basic dance technique.  Required skills include, but not limited to:

• Double turn (both sides) 

• Russian (single) 

• Calypso

• Leap (both sides) 

• Side leap 

• Hitch kick 

• Ring jump 

• Ring kick  

• Right and left kicks

• Right, left, middle splits

•

Knowledge

• Knows counts, words and sequence 

• Does not rely on others or count verbally

• Makes few mistakes & recovers quickly
