What will I be doing in school:
Leading students in the exploration of their strengths, interests, and RIASEC themes in an effort to clarify their vision for the future.
Augmenting existing school resources to help provide additional timely access to resources, programs, and pathways available to MCPS students.
Assisting in the planning, coordination, and implementation of college and career exploration experiences.
What is MoCo CAP:
A multi-pronged career and future advising program that will eventually support every Montgomery County Public School student in grades 6-12.
A partnership between four local organizations: MCPS, WorkSource Montgomery, Montgomery College and the Universities at Shady Grove. The programming was developed by Educators Cooperative, experts on the implantation of the Holland Code (RIASEC) initiatives in school.
This partnership was forged as an outgrowth of The Blueprint for Maryland's Future Legislation--in accordance with Pillar 3 standard 3.4 (Expand CTE Offerings and Participation): "Career counseling program to be provided to middle and high school students".
