How do I find a book?

You can access our catalog by clicking here. Type in a keyword, title, or author in the field to see if we have what you need.


What is the checkout process?

You can find your books and bring them to the circulation desk for check out. If no one is there, please put your name on a sticky note and leave the books at the desk and the media staff can check them out for you. If it’s an emergency and you need the book asap, please write your name and the barcode numbers found on the back of the book on a sticky note and leave the sticky note on the circulation desk.


How can I checkout electronic equipment (ActiVotes, Listening Center, etc.)?

When can my students check out books?

During their designated library lesson or during open checkout times.


Where do I find passwords for online resources?

The file of usernames and passwords is shared with you in Google Drive and is on the Resources page.


Where do I get logins for my students?

Log ins are provided to teachers in the beginning of school year. Teachers can find student passwords by clicking MCPS Resources in their favorites bar. Then select Student Passwords by homeroom.


When do I get logins for new students?

Logins are created/transferred within 2-3 days of the student coming to Summit Hall.
