Members of the Counseling Department at Silver Spring International Middle School work to help students be successful socially, emotionally, and academically.

• We work with students individually, in small groups, and with entire classes using restorative practices.

• We work with parents to help their children be more successful through consultations and conferences.

• We provide teachers with support for their students by strategizing alternative approaches and facilitating educational management.

The Career Advising Specialist at Silver Spring International Middle School helps students explore potential career options. They work with teachers, counselors, and other experts to give advice, tools, and support to make sure students have everything they need to explore different career paths. They also organize training and activities to help students, families, and teachers work together on planning for students' future jobs and goals.
