Cristian Pineda is the ACES Student Success Coordinator at Springbrook High School, and has dedicated 15 years supporting students of diverse backgrounds in grades K-12 and in the college setting. Before his role at ACES, Cristian was the Admissions Coordinator of K12 Partnerships at George Mason University. As the Admissions Coordinator, he developed and executed college-exploration programming for elementary, middle, and high school students, with a focus on inviting school groups and organizations that support first-generation and underrepresented student groups.
Prior to that, Cristian worked as a Site Coordinator for Communities In Schools of NOVA connecting students with community partners and resources that address both academic and nonacademic needs. He also worked in Washington, DC as an administrative and digital media assistant. Born and raised in Northern Virginia, he has been involved with several local organizations and nonprofits empowering students to achieve post-secondary success by intersecting leadership development, college and career readiness, and multicultural and social justice advocacy.
Cristian is a proud Salvadoran-American and first-generation college student. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication, and his Master of Education degree in Counseling and Development (both from George Mason University).
