Athletics
MCPS Middle School Athletics Website
SGMS Athletics program will have a fall and spring in-person season available for 7th and 8th grade students. In person engagement sessions will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15 to 4:30, during the season. Bus transportation is available.
There will be a Parent Meeting on Thursday, April 8th at 6:00 pm via zoom to provide more detailed information.

Maryland Comprehensive Assessment Program (MCAP)
MCAP is a computer based and will provide students, parents, educators and the community with better student information at a faster pace and gather information that helps Mayland schools strengthen our instruction and improve student performance so that our graduates are ready to move into the workforce or a post secondary institution. MCAP will continue to assess the Mayland College and Career Ready Standards in reading, English/Language arts, and mathematics.
March 4th Update: The State Board voted to approve the Superintendent’s recommended plan for administering diagnostic assessments in the fall, rather than the plan discussed at the State Board’s February meeting to administer summative assessments in the spring of this school year.
