Measurement of Academic Progress--Reading (MAP-R) & Math (MAP-M)--This computerized test is used to determine whether students have made adequate progress in their reading and math skills since the last time they took the test. The scores, with other measures, will be used to determine a student’s program of study.

Interim and Report

Card Dates

The school year is divided into four quarters.  At the midpoint of each quarter, an interim progress report will be available to your parents on the myMCPS Portal.  The purpose of the interim is to inform you and your parents of your progress in each subject.  If necessary, your teachers may offer suggestions that will help you do better.  When you receive your interim report, you should discuss it with your parents and with your teachers to be sure that you understand what you have to do if improvement is indicated.  Below is a list of the dates when interim progress reports and report cards will be distributed.


      First Quarter:

Interims available on Synergy: October 5, 2023

Grading period ends: October 31, 2023

Report cards available on Synergy: November 9, 2023


Second Quarter:

Interims available on Synergy: December 18, 2023

Grading period ends: January 26, 2024

Report cards available on Synergy: February 5, 2024


Third Quarter:

Interims available on Synergy: March 11, 2024

Grading period ends: April 9, 2024

Report cards available on Synergy: April 17, 2024
