I am one of the 5th grade CES teachers at Oak View. Here are FIVE fun facts about me!
My favorite subject to teach is MATH.
I love going on long walks with my dog Simba.
I love to be involved at Oak View; I am the Safety Patrol Sponsor, I am a Girls on the Run coach, I lead the after school club "Difference Makers", AND I am the leader for our PBIS team at school that plans all of the fun monthly events (like the Dunkin' Dragons event pictured to the left).
I graduated from Blake High School (MCPS), got my undergraduate degree from Temple University and just graduated this spring from Johns Hopkins University with my Masters in Gifted Education!
I am certified in grades 4-8 and I have taught every single one of those grades!
I attended MCPS when I was growing up and went back to college to become a teacher more than twenty years ago. I have taught many different subjects and grade levels and am currently one of the CES fifth grade teachers at Oak View. It is remarkable how much I learn from my students each and every day. I am a “history nut” and really enjoy researching fascinating historical events and telling stories to the students. I currently live in Baltimore and my greatest joy is to spend time with my children and grandchildren.
I have been teaching in the 4th grade CES for four years, and absolutely LOVE it! I am also a former MCPS student, and graduated from Bethesda-Chevy Chase (BCC) High School. I currently teach the reading, writing and social studies to all CES 4th graders; often, I like to integrate all of the subjects together. I am very excited to graduate from Johns Hopkins this spring with a degree in Gifted Education, which has taught me all about how to be the best teacher for our gifted learners. I look forward to beginning Year #5, along with the rest of the amazing staff at Oak View!
I am the 4th grade CES math and science teacher at Oak View. This is my 5th year of teaching and I love it more each year! Reading, playing sports and baking are some of the things I enjoy outside of school. I graduated from Bob Jones University with a degree in Elementary Education. I'm currently pursuing a graduate degree in Gifted Education.
