Minority Scholarships - A large percentage of the U.S. college population is comprised of minority students from various backgrounds and races. To qualify as minority student, you don't need to be a first generation immigrant or the first person in your family to go to college. Specific organizations qualify women or LGBTQ students as minorities. Scholarships for minority students vary in their criteria and are not limited to race or ethnicity.

National Merit Scholarship - The National Merit® Scholarship Program is an academic competition for recognition and scholarships that began in 1955. High school students enter the National Merit Program by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®)—which serves as an initial screen of approximately 1.6 million entrants each year—and by meeting published program entry and participation requirements.
