John F. Kennedy High School is a Middle Years Program (MYP) School. MYP/IB World Schools are schools that share a common philosophy—a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education that John F. Kennedy High School believes is important for our students.
The MYP is designed to foster inquiry learning with interdisciplinary experiences to allow students to build strong foundations in skills and concepts.
Program Components Include:
Approaches to Learning Skills
Skills in research, communication, thinking, collaboration, and self-management
Global Context
Connections between theoretical concepts to the real world applications and builds international mindedness
Key and Related Concepts
Enduring Understandings within and between subject groups that bridges information between units and courses
MYP Assessments
Standardized within courses to give student feedback on progress in subject skills
