Schedule Drawing Session
The virtual drawing session will be held on January 13th from 9:00am to 11:00am
- Only students who submitted a portfolio will be invited to the drawing session
- The drawing produced in the drawing session will contribute to the applicant's overall score in addition to their submitted portfolio and artist statement
- If an applicant requires any type of accommodation, please reach out to the VAC team before January 5th so we can ensure the needs are met.
- If a conflict arrises that prevents the applicant from attending the virtual drawing session on January 13th please reach out to the VAC team ASAP.
To be successful in the virtual drawing session applicants will need:
- a blank 8.5 x 11 piece of paper
- a #2 pencil
- pencil sharpener and eraser
- a camera or smartphone to photograph the finished work
- a mirror (optional)
Students are welcome to use larger paper, a sketchbook, drawing pencils, and other tools but they are not required.
Things to note about the drawing session:
Students will be asked to participate in this process independently.
Students will be asked to turn their camera on and mute their microphone. We will disable participants ability to view other participants.
Students will be provided with 90 minutes to complete a drawing prompt. We understand that the student may not fully complete their drawing, but that is perfectly acceptable. We just want them to do their best and complete what they can during that time frame.
At the end of the drawing session, students will be asked to photograph their drawing and submit it to the VAC via a google form provided that day. The google form will only accept responses during drawing session and will close when the session is over.
Time will be provided for students to ask questions (verbally or in the chat) and learn what it's like to be a student in the VAC program. Ms. Harnish and Ms. Harris will be there along with Mrs. Wells. We want to clear up any of your thoughts and questions. It's your chance to get to know about us and the program - just like we want to know about you.
