Cybersecurity Awareness Tip: Online Safety Basics for Educators
In today’s digital learning environment, maintaining strong cybersecurity practices is essential for protecting student data and ensuring a safe online experience.
The National Cybersecurity Alliance highlights key online safety basics every educator should follow:
Enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA): Add an extra layer of security to your accounts.
Use Strong, Unique Passwords: Avoid reusing passwords and consider using a password manager.
Recognize and Report Phishing: Be cautious of unexpected emails or messages asking for personal information.
Update Devices & Software: Regular updates help protect against security vulnerabilities.
Limit Personal Information Sharing: Be mindful of what you post online to safeguard privacy.
By following these best practices, educators can help create a more secure digital environment for themselves and their students.
