Neuroscience is a one-semester course that covers neuroanatomy as well as neurophysiology. The class is based on hands-on experiences (including dissections) as well as class discussion. Once we've touched on how a particular part of the nervous system is built, the next logical question is “...and what can go wrong?”. Students are expected to research and present answers to that important question each unit. Exploring what happens when the nervous system malfunctions is one of the best ways to study neuroscience! It will be helpful for students to have taken AP Biology or Cell Physiology before taking Neuroscience.
