Hi there! I am Ms. Kerry McGovern and I will be your child's 2nd grade teacher this year! I earned my Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education from Miami University and my Master's in Human Development from The University of Maryland. I grew up right down the road in Darnestown and now live in Rockville. I enjoy reading, baking, and spending time with family and friends. This will be my 11th year teaching in MCPS and my second year at Kensington Parkwood. Our class also has the honor of having a senior intern from the University of Maryland join us. It's going to be a great year! 

Hello! My name is Gabby Simala. It’s nice to meet you! I am very excited and ready to start another year at KP. I graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education. I completed my student-teaching internship at KP and have been working in second grade ever since! I also have a Masters in Instructional Technology from UMGC. I grew up and continue to live in Olney, MD. I enjoy spending time outdoors, traveling, cooking with my mom, and listening & singing along to every type of music. My favorite getaway is Bethany Beach, DE.

Hello! My name is Sue Iciek. This is my 7th year at KP, but I have been a teacher for over 30 years. I received my bachelor's degree in education from St.Norbert College in Wisconsin and I have a Master's degree. I have taught all elementary levels and am looking forward to joining the 2nd Grade Team this year! I grew up in a suburb of Chicago. I met my husband in college and have lived in MD since we married. We have 3 amazing grown children;  two daughters and a son. We also have 3 beautiful grandchildren. I love to read, go on vacations and most of all, spend time with my family!

Hello! My name is Kiersten Willis. I am very excited to start another year at KP! I have my Bachelor's and Master's degree in Elementary Education. I taught for 11 years before taking time off to spend with our children and this is now my 7th year at KP! I live in the neighborhood and our children went here to KP! Our daughter Grace is now a sophomore at The University of Georgia and our son Johnny is a Sophomore at Georgetown Prep. I love to do yoga, go on long walks and travel with my family.

Hi! My name is Erica Myers. I attend the University of Maryland majoring in elementary education with a minor in human development. Last year I interned in second grade at Forest Ridge Elementary in Howard County Maryland. I am very excited to be teaching at Kensington Parkwood this year for my student teaching. I grew up in Gaithersburg, Maryland and now live in College Park while at UMD. At UMD I am part of the club swim team. In my free time I enjoy swimming, taking cycling classes, and spending time with friends.
