Regional IB Program
John F. Kennedy High School


The Regional IB Program at John F. Kennedy High School is one of four application based programs in Montgomery County Public Schools.

Students in the Regional IB are part of a four year International Baccalaureate Program


  • Focus on international mindedness and interdisciplinary learning

  • Organize and contribute to service projects

  • Foster community within the program and the school

  • Build leadership skills


9th & 10th Grades:

  • Cohorted advanced core classes

  • Complete the MYP Personal Project which is a student driven inquiry learning experience


11th & 12th Grades:

  • Study advanced and collegiate level coursework in six IB Diploma Program subject Groups

  • Earn an internationally recognized IB Diploma in preparation for college and future career

  • Build an academic portfolio to potentially earn college credit and/or advanced academic standing

  • Enhanced research skills through completion of internal assessments and extended essay

  • Build capacity for leadership, service, and collaboration with Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) project

    • Einstein HS

    • Montgomery Blair HS

    • Northwood HS

    • Walt Whitman HS

    • Walter Johnson HS

    • Wheaton HS

    • Winston Churchill HS
