Green Galway Guardians:
A group of 5th grade Lions leading our school's recycling- reusing - reducing efforts. They are learning how to be good Earth stewards and hope to inspire all Galway students to care for our planet.
Real food for thought: this image by Nagy-Bagoly Arpad elicited so many on-point comments from students:
"Plastics are going to take over the Earth."
"Plastics are going to destroy Earth if we don't recycle them."
"Plastics are going to stay around forever and take over the planet."
What We Acomplished:
Re-labeled all recycling stations around our school.
Designed and created LIGHTS OFF light switch covers for every room.
Helped Ms. Foust (Green Leader) sort and recycle the markers, crayons, batteries, ink printer cartridges, and more.
Educated other kids about recycling at lunch.
Collected, cleaned and prepped 800 plastic water bottles for our EcoBrick school project.
