Directions:
There are lots of different kinds of opportunities to practice and apply your skills on this summer assignment! These optional practice opportunities will allow you to practice skills important for next year's course. There is a digital option (the MATH-O board) and practice problems to check out. Your math teacher can also provide you with a paper packet or you can pick one up in the main office over the summer.
Math-O board
You should complete at least 5 of the tasks on the MATH-O board (but definitely try more if you would like to!) We encourage you to challenge yourself by completing a straight row or diagonal, but if you need to jump around you may. A reflection sheet (to be used for videos and real world math websites) and capture sheet (to be used with all other squares) should be used to record your thoughts and new knowledge. You can type into each capture sheet or print it out. All the links you need are on the board.
DUE DATE: You should complete this work prior to the first day of school since the purpose is to get you ready for the next course! If you have any questions, please e-mail Ms. Brennan
Student Task: Complete at least 5 tasks on the board and record your notes on the capture sheet or reflection sheet as you need to.
Family Task: Check completion of each task.
Family Extended Opportunities: Engage in conversation regarding each board space your student completes.
Paper Practice Option
You should complete the practice for the course that you will be in next school year. If you need a copy printed for you, please see your math teacher this week or stop in at the main office over the summer.
