College & Career Representative Visits in the College & Career Center (Juniors & Seniors)
College Representative Visits
Juniors & Seniors are invited to participate in college rep visits to DHS to learn more about colleges and universities. Representatives come to DHS to talk about their schools and answer questions. Advantages of participating in college rep visits:
Meeting the contact from a college or university. Many times, these are the same people reviewing your application!
Learning in-depth information about the school, their program offerings, and financial aid.
In some cases, reps may offer insight on how to receive an application fee waiver for their college or university.
All rep visits will begin at the start of 2nd, 3rd, or 4th period and may be scheduled Monday through Friday.
Students who wish to attend should report to the location listed in the email (room 133, the library, or the auditorium) at the beginning of the period. Please note late arrivals may not be admitted. Visits will last approximately 25 minutes, allowing students time to return to class for the final 15 minutes of the period.
Before attending think about the following: Does the college have your major? Can you afford to miss class that day to attend? How many visits have you already made this week?
Career Visits
Throughout the school year, local organizations, employers, and military representatives may also visit DHS to share employment, training, and career opportunities. These visits are often held outside the auditorium during lunch, and students from all grade levels are welcomed to stop and learn more.
Schedule
The list of all visits is available in Naviance. Visits date can also be seen on the DHS College & Career Center Calendar.
