CASE is a hands on scientific exploration of agriculture and environmental fundamentals. Through this curricula students pursue a program of study that builds their scientific skills and knowledge, environmental awareness, and leadership development. Read more here.
Students in the CASE program complete a 4 course pathway in Natural Resources. This could result in earning college credit, and provide opportunities only available in this program. Sherwood's greenhouse is a one of a kind in MCPS. The building has a classroom, head house, and a greenhouse with over 2000 square feet of growing space.
Sherwood's famous Rock & Roll revival brings the entirety of the community together to see our amazing students show off their talent.
Further, Sherwood's staff supports a wide variety of clubs including Minority Scholars, and National Honor Society. And let's not forget our championship athletic teams from Baseball and Softball to our Collary Sports teams such as Bocce.
Agriculture lends itself to so many career pathways from Animal Science, and Veterinary Medicine to Epidemiology, Environmental Law and Policy. Here is a link to the University of Maryland Agriculture and Natural Resources page with a list of available majors that UMD offers.
Students who participate in CASE have the potential to participate in field trips. The picture above shows a past AFNR class completing a biodiveristy sampling at a creek that feeds into the Chesapeake Bay.
