October 28 Update

On October 21, 22, and 23, the Strategic Planning Team held their first meeting. The team consisted of 27 members and included business, community, service, and civic leaders, representatives from higher education, parents, students, staff, and Board members. Team developed a draft for the following components of the strategic plan: beliefs, mission, parameters, objectives, and strategies. The team meet for 3 days and reached consensus on the components. The Planning Team identified 5 objectives for which Action Teams will develop plans. These areas are:

• Instruction
• Learning Environments
• Poverty
• Equity
• Mental Health

Would you like to be considered for being a team member on one of these teams? Please email Lgraham@mcps.org by November 6, 2019. Share which Action Team interests you, your name, contact information, and your relationship to the school (parent, business leader, etc.). Teams will begin meeting on November 13 and will work over the next few months to develop specific action plans.
