What is the spelling routine?

Each student will have a unique spelling test according to their own needs. Students will take a pretest every Friday and will be given their spelling words on Monday. Each students will be tested on words missed or given challenge words (if they missed fewer than 8 words). Students will have 8 spelling words per week (whether they are from the spelling unit or challenge words).

Test Day:

Spelling tests are given using Google Forms which will allow for virtual learning if needed. Students will be given the numbers of questions they need to answer based on their pretest. They will then find the correctly spelled word within a list of misspelled words.

Finding ways to study at home:

The best way for your child to study is a way that interests them! Here is a link (click green button below) to 72 ways to study spelling words. Have your child look through the list and write down which activities interest them. Each week choose a new way to study until you find ones that seem to work for your child.
