Virginia Studies

What will we be learning in Social Studies???

In Social Studies, we will be learning about the rich history of Virginia.

We will dive in to the following units of life in Virginia:

• Virginia Geography & Economics

• Early Virginia- Native People

• Jamestown

• Colonial Virginia

• American Revolution

• Our New Country

• Civil War

• Reconstruction

• 20th Century

Students will be required to participate in Performance Based Assessments throughout the school year including:

1st 9 Weeks: Very First Visit to Virginia Museum

2nd 9 Weeks: Common Assessment

3rd 9 Weeks: Learning Tour of the Civil War

4th 9 Weeks: Historical Biography
