A little bit about me...
The 2023-2024 school year is my third year at St. Clare Walker. In addition to being the counselor for SCW, I hold an active license in Virginia as a Licensed Professional Counselor.
I have worn many hats over the course of my counseling career. Immediately prior to joining the SCW community, I offered individual and family therapy in my private practice in West Point, Virginia. My early career included roles as a Strategic Family Mentor, Case Manager and Emergency Clinician, Intensive In-Home Therapist, and as the Director of Youth and Family Services. I had the privilege of working with youth, families, active duty and retired service members, first responders, and adults working toward change. I have collaborated closely with schools, courts, and departments of social services to assist children and families experiencing trauma. While it all felt like important work, my position at SCW feels both important and FUN!
I am a wife and the mother of three (now grown) children. I live with my husband in Mathews. For fun and relaxation, I garden, read, cook, and spend time with family.
I enjoy getting to know all of our students throughout the year. Frequently we get to know each other casually during the normal course of the school day, but it is sometimes helpful for me to know a little more in order to best support the student in this setting. If you and your student would like to share a little extra information to help me get to you you, please consider completing the attached form. Information is for the counselor's use only.
