NEWSELA Alternatives -

CommonLit - https://www.commonlit.org/?force_unsupported_browser=true - allows users to assign readings through Google Classroom. Articles can be arranged by lexile, grade level, topic, etc. There are comprehension questions and other resources that allow red aloud materials

Readworks - https://www.readworks.org/ - Similar to CommonLit, articles allow for read aloud and the pairing of texts.

Rewordify - https://rewordify.com/ - A very bare bones tool that allows users to copy and paste text to better understand the language.

Tween Tribune - https://www.tweentribune.com/ - Allows users to adjust lexile of articles found. Very similar to Newsela.
