I am of the distinct opinion that Algebra 1 is the most important math class in any high school across the nation!

We build a firm foundation in my classroom for all the other math classes that you will ever have in high school or college.

I have been teaching Algebra 1 for over 28 years and believe that learning comes by doing. We do a lot of stuff at the board and it brings a confidence to students that other methods can't compare. New research confirms that working at the board and owning your thoughts and process and communicating them make better students.

At McNairy Central I am also  one of the FCA (Fellowship of Christian Students) sponsors. We meet every twice a month  in the library at 7:15 am for breakfast and a time of devotion. We would love for you to come and check it out some time. We also will be meeting other times throughout the year for various activities as announced.

Originally from Connecticut, I have come to love McNairy County with a passion. I am happily married and we have 5 children and 4 grandchildren.  My husband is the senior pastor of Life Wind Church in Selmer. We absolutely love music! We are a very musical family with lots of instruments and lots of singing.

I am a lover of the beach life, but appreciate all water - lakes, pools, rivers - you name it - we will be in it or near it for ultimate relaxation and fun as soon as the weather allows.

We also do our best to run, walk, or hike as much as possible. Our county has several walking parks as well as a well known state park, Big Hill Pond, with extensive trails for plenty of discovery hikes, biking and horse riding, as well as canoeing and kayaking.

We recently had an opportunity to experience something together that we have never done before - virtual learning! When COVID-19 happened in this country, we had the opportunity to seamlessly mesh online with the physical classroom. Technology is used in the classroom. Feel free to email me any time for anything - students AND parents!

As a student, is your responsibility to check your Google Classroom  AND your school email every day!
