VISION

By the year 2031, Colegio María Currea Manrique IED will be consolidated as a reference in the city of Bogota for its excellence in the education of children, adolescents and young people from a STEAM approach, International bachelor’s degree (IB) certification and mastery of a second language, English. The student body will stand out for leading processes focused on the promotion of human rights and living their duties, fostered by an educational environment that encourages leadership and autonomy. Our vision is based on the formation of citizens of the world, committed to justice, equity, inclusion and sustainability, able to actively contribute from Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics to the community of Bogota and to forge happy and sustainable life projects. All this is possible through a comprehensive education that promotes expression, creativity and 21st century skills in two languages. The graduate of the educational institution will exercise an empowered citizenship as agents of change in a constantly evolving society.

VISIÓN

Para el año 2031, el Colegio María Currea Manrique IED se consolidará como un referente en la ciudad de Bogotá por su excelencia en la formación de niños, niñas, adolescentes y jóvenes desde un enfoque STEAM, certificación del Bachillerato Internacional (IB) y el dominio de un segundo idioma, inglés. El estudiantado se destacará por liderar procesos centrados en la promoción de los derechos humanos y vivencia de sus deberes, fomentado por un ambiente educativo que estimule el liderazgo y la autonomía. Nuestra visión se fundamenta en la formación de ciudadanos del mundo, comprometidos con la justicia, la equidad, la inclusión y la sostenibilidad, capaces de contribuir activamente desde la Ciencia, Tecnología, Ingeniería, Artes y Matemáticas a la comunidad de Bogotá y de forjar proyectos de vida felices y sostenibles. Todo es posible a través de una educación integral que promueva la expresión, la creatividad y las competencias del siglo XXI en dos idiomas. El egresado de la institución educativa ejercerá una ciudadanía empoderada como agentes de cambio en una sociedad en constante evolución.”

MISSION

María Currea Manrique School, a district educational institution with emphasis on the formation of rights and duties, is committed to the education of children, adolescents and youth of Ciudad Bolívar. The only official educational institution in the bilingual UPZ, with the projection of obtaining the International bachelor’s degree (IB) certification, from a STEAM approach (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics). We promote pedagogical processes focused on citizenship skills, communication, management, creativity and emotional skills, with the objective of preparing students to interact in the society of the 21st century. The pedagogical approach is strengthened with values of equity, respect, autonomy and justice; we seek to form world citizens committed to inclusive social responsibility, environmental and sustainability, inspired by the love of learning, creative exploration and service to others.

MISIÓN

El Colegio María Currea Manrique, institución educativa distrital con énfasis en la formación de derechos y deberes, está comprometido con la educación de la niñez, adolescencia y juventud de la localidad Ciudad Bolívar. Única institución educativa oficial en la UPZ bilingüe, con la proyección de obtener la certificación del Bachillerato Internacional (IB), desde un enfoque STEAM (Ciencia, Tecnología, Ingeniería, Artes y Matemáticas). Promovemos procesos pedagógicos centrados en competencias ciudadanas, comunicación, gestión, creatividad y habilidades emocionales, con el objetivo de preparar a los estudiantes para interactuar en la sociedad del siglo XXI. El enfoque pedagógico se fortalece con valores de equidad, respeto, autonomía y justicia; buscamos formar ciudadanos del mundo comprometidos con responsabilidad social incluyente, ambiental y la sostenibilidad, inspirados por el amor al aprendizaje, la exploración creativa y el servicio a los demás.
