Fall 2026 Season Focus

The fall baseball/softball season includes league play at all division levels. The MCLL Fall season has a developmental focus and is an opportunity for players to try the division they may play next Spring. Players may also choose to play at their age level from the prior Spring season. There are no playoffs unless otherwise noted. No player evaluations are required for the Fall season. All players who register by the deadline will be placed on a team.

We're always looking for volunteers! If you would like to be either a manager or an assistant coach, you may register using TeamLinkt.

Fall 2026 Season Schedule

8/15: Registration ends
9/13: first games, most levels.
10/31: final weekend of play

Because we rely on field permits issued by Montgomery County, we’re unable to finalize schedules in advance. Practice times are determined by individual coaches, and will be shared once teams are formed.

Season

The season runs September through October. Practices start in mid- to late-August.

When you register for Fall 2026, you will be directed to our registration system, TeamLinkt. Please follow the instructions to set up your account if you do not already have one and register your child(ren) and/or yourself as a volunteer.

Eligibility

League Age

See the League Age Calculator to determine what level of play your child is eligible to play. Your child's "league age" is determined based on their age as of August 31 of the current year for baseball and December 31 of the previous year for softball.

MCLL Player Eligibility

To be eligible to play in Montgomery County Little League, players must either reside within the area of the boundary map or attend a school within that area unless they have already been granted a waiver.

Once the season begins, your coach will be your primary point of contact with the league. Fees

Scholarships

Little League and MCLL provide scholarships to those in need of financial assistance. Click here for more information.

Discounts

Family Discount - If you have multiple children, you receive a $25 discount on each registered child after the first one.

Late Fees

A $25 late fee will be assessed on all registrations received after 8/15/2026. Late registrations are subject to availability, and registrants may be placed on a waitlist.

Tee-Ball

Tee-Ball - Ages 4-6

- One game per week. Games are on normally Saturday morning, but could be in the afternoon.
- One practice per week. Specific weeknight or weekend time will be set by the individual coaches.
- Approximately 6-8 games (weather permitting)

Tee-Ball Division (League Ages 4-6) – Tee-Ball Pro Clinic

Learn from professionals! Parent coaches and players will participate together in this 75-minute clinic consisting of 40 minutes of instruction and a 35-minute game. Professional coaches and current and former college players will work with players and parent coaches to develop basic skills in playing and coaching the game. There will be a maximum of 10 kids per team. Parent coaches will learn from professional coaches how to run a practice and prepare the kids for the next level, while assisting them through drills focused on development and fun.

The clinics will take place at the same time and location in Kensington each Sunday. Registration for this program is limited to the first 200 participants.

Coach Pitch

Coach Pitch "Rookie Ball" - Ages 5-7

- This level is designed for players who did not play tee-ball and are no longer eligible or have played a season of tee ball and are looking for more of a challenge, but are not yet ready for full-blown coach pitch. In this Division, a "rescue tee" will be utilized if a player is unable to hit a pitch off of the coach.
- One game per week. Games are on normally Saturday morning, but could be in the afternoon.
- One practice per week. Specific weeknight or weekend time will be set by the individual coaches.
- Approximately 6-8 games (weather permitting)

Coach Pitch - Ages 6-8

- This level is designed for players who have played tee ball and are ready for more advanced gameplay or players that have played a season of Rookie Ball.
- Generally one game per week. Games are normally on Saturday. While daylight permits, at the very start of the season "bonus" weekday games may be scheduled.
- One practice per week. Specific weeknight or weekend time will be set by the individual coaches.
- Approximately 8 games (weather permitting)

Baseball (kid-pitch)

Minors A - Player/Coach Pitch Hybrid - Ages 7-9

- This introduction to kid-pitch baseball is perfect for young players ages 7-9 who have participated in coach-pitch and want a transition into the new world of kid-pitch (AA) or for those 9-year-olds who are brand-new to baseball. This division will aid development of brand-new pitchers while not sacrificing action in other aspects of the game.
- Generally one game per week. Games are normally on Saturday. While daylight permits, at the very start of the season "bonus" weekday games may be scheduled.
- One practice per week. Specific weeknight or weekend time will be set by the individual coaches.
- Approximately 8 games (weather permitting)

Minors AA - Ages 8-10

- This is MCLL's introductory kid-pitch Division and is designed for players who have never played kid pitch or have played kid pitch, but require additional development on the mound or at the plate.
- One practice per week. Specific weeknight or weekend time will be set by the individual coaches.
- 1-2 games per week with a majority of games on Saturdays; weekday games when daylight permits or on lighted fields when available.
- Approximately 10 games (weather permitting)

Minors AAA - Ages 9-11

- This level is designed for players who have previously played kid pitch and are ready for more competition and challenge. Players at this level are still developing their talents on the mound or the plate, but have a broader understanding of the game and skills required than a player who may be in Minors AA.
- One practice per week. Specific weeknight or weekend time will be set by the individual coaches.
- 1-2 games per week with a majority of games on Saturdays; weekday games when daylight permits or on lighted fields when available.
- Approximately 10 games (weather permitting)

Majors - Ages 10-12

- - This level is designed for players who have shown a high-level of skill and baseball acumen. They have previously played kid-pitch at the Minors AAA level and are ready for the highest level of competition and challenge. All players that are League Age 12 are required to play Majors absent a waiver to "play down" from MCLL. We encourage players that will be League Age 12 in the Spring season to play at the Majors level in Fall.
  - 1-2 games per week with a majority of games on Saturdays; weekday games when daylight permits or on lighted fields when available.
  - One practice per week. Specific weeknight or weekend time will be set by the individual coaches.
  - Approximately 10 games (weather permitting).

Teen Ball

Intermediates - Ages 11-13

- - Games are held on 50/70 fields (i.e. 50 foot mound and 70-foot base paths). This level is for players that have generally either played at the Majors level, are new ballplayers but too old for majors, or are younger players, but are ready to move up from typical little league fields (46-foot mound and 60-foot base paths).
  - 1-2 games per week with a majority of games on Sundays; weekday games when daylight permits or on lighted fields when available.
  - One practice per week. Specific weeknight or weekend time will be set by the individual coaches.
  - Approximately 10 games (weather permitting). Games may be played against other District 2 teams located outside of Montgomery County.

Juniors/Seniors - Ages 12-16

- - Games are held on 60/90 fields (i.e. 60 foot mound and 90-foot base paths). This level is for players that have either played at the Intermediates level, are new ballplayers but too old for Intermediates, or are younger players but are ready to move on from a 50/70 field. this is the perfect division for high school players or soon-to-be high school players looking to keep their skills sharp for the spring.
  - 1-2 games per week with a majority of games on weekends; weekday games when daylight permits or on lighted fields when available.
  - One practice per week. Specific weeknight or weekend time will be set by the individual coaches.
  - Approximately 10 games (weather permitting). Games may be played against other District 2 teams located outside of Montgomery County.

Softball Divisions (Girls):

Most weekend games for all softball levels take place on Sunday, not Saturday.

Tee-Ball Division (League Ages 4-6)

This program is for young players just learning the game. Tee-Ball utilizes an adjustable batting tee for hitting. The program is based on Little League International's core curriculum that features structured learning, highlighted by one practice and one Sunday game per week. Over the course of the season, coaches and parents will engage in a series of lessons utilizing up to 40 activities that include skills, drills, and plenty of physical activity.

Coach Pitch - Ages 6-8

- This level is designed for players who have played tee-ball and are ready for more advanced gameplay or players that have played a season of Rookie Ball.
- Generally one game per week. Games are normally on Sunday.
- One practice per week. Specific weeknight or weekend time will be set by the individual coaches.
- For the fall season only we will offer three weeks of clinics with trainers, and 6-8 games including a round robin event.
- A rescue tee may be used at the start of the season for the first few games.

Minors AA - Ages 8-10

- This level is designed for players who have never played kid-pitch or have played kid-pitch, but require additional development on the mound or at the plate.
- One practice per week. Specific weeknight or weekend time will be set by the individual coaches.
- 1-2 games per week with weekend games normally on Sunday; weekday games when daylight permits or on lighted fields when available.
- For the fall season only we will offer three weeks of clinics with trainers, and 6-8 games including a round robin event.

Minors AAA - Ages 9-11

- This level is designed for players who have previously played kid-pitch and are ready for more competition and challenge. - Approximately 10 games plus playoffs (weather permitting). Depending on weather and talent within the Division, playoffs may be held at the end of the season. Games may be played against other Little League teams located outside of Montgomery County.

Seniors - Ages 14-16

- 1-2 games per week with weekend games normally on Sunday; weekday games when daylight permits or on lighted fields when available.
- One practice per week. Specific weeknight or weekend time will be set by the individual coaches.
- Approximately 10 games plus playoffs (weather permitting). Games may be played against other Little League teams located outside of Montgomery County.

Additional Info

Evaluations

Player evaluations are held for all players league age 10-12 or who are registered to play in the Baseball Minors AAA, Minors Quad A and Majors, and Softball Majors, Juniors and Seniors Divisions. The evaluation process is intended to ensure proper division placement and maintain balanced teams. The evaluation process is not a tryout. All players that register are assigned to a team regardless of skill or baseball/softball experience. Tee-ball and coach-pitch (baseball and softball) players are all excluded from evaluations. Parent Contract

During registration, parents will be asked to review and accept the Parent Contract. The Parent Contract documents our expectations of behavior by parents and players participating in the league.
