HISTORY OF THE STUDENT COUNCIL
In previous years, the Student Council was formed by the chairpersons of the Clubs & Societies and the chairpersons of the Form Associations.
The Students' Union Constitution was amended in 2013. The formation, operation and the functions of the Council were changed. The Student Council consisted of chairpersons of all Class Associations.
The 2013 Students' Union Constitution was further amended and replaced by the 2015 edition. The Student Council now consists of 24 elected councillors, each representing a class in Methodist College.
Thus, the Student Council can better serve as the bridge between the students and the Students' Union Executive Committee or the school authority. These amendments also enhance the functions of the Student Council. Apart from supervising the Executive Committee and the Student Journal Committee, it also discusses and reflects students' opinions concerning school policies.
