McKinney ISD Library Services Process for Reconsideration of Library Materials:

Step 1: Informal Reconsideration: Please contact your campus principal to discuss your concern about the book. If you wish to make a formal challenge after this meeting, please ask the campus principal for the MISD formal reconsideration form.

Step 2: Formal Reconsideration: If you still have concerns after the informal meeting, complete the MISD formal reconsideration form. Once this form is complete, submit the signed form to the campus principal.

Step 3: Campus Level Reconsideration Committee: The standing campus level reconsideration committee reads the entire book and votes whether to keep or remove the book from the campus library.

Step 4: District Level Reconsideration Committee: You may appeal the decision of the campus level reconsideration committee to the district level reconsideration committee.

Step 5: Appeal to the Board: You may appeal the decision of the district level reconsideration committee to the McKinney ISD Board of Trustees.
