Stephanie Keen is excited to join McKinney High School as the Head Choir Director. She previously served as the choir director for Independence High School and was there for six years. In 2016, she opened Nelson MS both in Frisco ISD. A graduate of Flower Mound High School, Mrs. Keen knew she wanted a career in music. Through the love and support of her family, she graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Music Education degree.
Mrs. Keen’s choirs have earned many awards including Sweepstakes, All-State Choir placements, Superior ratings in Solo and Ensemble, and Best in Festival at Directors Choir San Antonio.
Mrs. Keen is passionate about singing, creative expression- thus her enjoyment of Pinterest. She is married to a choir director, Mr. Keen, and has a 3 year old boy named Taylor and a little girl on the way.
Ms. Amanda Barber joined the MHS choir program in the Fall of 2024. Prior to her time at McKinney High, she was the Associate Choir Director at Killeen HIgh School in Killeen, Texas where she directed three treble choirs. In her first year of teaching, Ms. Barber's choir earned a "sweepstakes" trophy at UIL evaluation. Ms. Barber earned her Masters Degree in Choral Conducting under the instruction of Dr. Tony Thornton at Oklahoma State University in 2023 and her Bachelors Degree in Music Education at Oklahoma State University under the instruction of Dr. Z. Randall Stroope in 2021
