Current employees may view and update their contact information (home or mailing address, phone numbers) through Employee Self Service, under the Personal Information tab, by clicking on Contact then Edit.
ID badges are issued by the Human Resources department.
ID badges building access is set up by the Security department, and copier/printer access is set up by the Technology department.
MISD badges may be used to clock in using the TimeClock Plus (TCP) machine; however, employees may also clock in by typing their 6-digit employee numbers.

Employee contracts are issued and signed electronically. Upon acceptance, employees receive an email with the accepted contract attached as a PDF file to save for future reference.

A form is completed at the time of hiring. A new form is required to request changing the financial institution for payroll direct deposit.

Applications such as Canvas, e-School, Employee Self Service, HelpDesk, among many others, are easily accessible through the MISD Applications Single Sign On (SSO).
On the website, look for the SSO link at the top right of the page.

All employees must sign up for payroll direct deposit. The Payroll department issues Direct Deposit Notifications via email every pay date and it includes check details in a password protected attachment.
The notifications are sent to employee's McKinney ISD email address with the subject line "Attached is your direct deposit advice".
Service records are issued by request only and are generally available 30 days after the last day of employment or 30 days after the request form is received, whichever is later.
Records for end of school year resignations are not available until mid-August.

Service records are used to:
Determine creditable years of service to calculate salary
Transfer state sick leave and state personal leave balances
New employees first paycheck will reflect the salary according to service records received by HR before payroll is processed.
Recently hired employees must submit any pending service records within 90 days from hiring date. Once received, salary is retroactively adjusted to the hire date.

The purpose of the sick leave bank is to provide additional sick leave days to a member of the bank in the event of a catastrophic illness or injury of the employee or the employee’s immediate family member that necessitate the employee to take a prolonged absence from duty, which could result in a substantial loss of income because the employee will have exhausted all available state and local leave, as well as any compensatory time, vacation days, and duty days, as applicable, apart from the leave bank as defined in McKinney ISD Board Policy DEC(LOCAL).

W4 Form - The Employee’s Withholding Certificate is the form the district needs to withhold the correct federal income tax from your pay. This form is handled by the Payroll department, and it is available at https://www.mckinneyisd.net/business-finance/ under the Payroll Calendars & Forms section. W2 Form - The Wage and Tax Statement is the form that reflects an employee's income earned and taxes withheld from the prior year to be reported on the employee's income tax returns. The Payroll department issues electronic W2 forms for each employee by the end of January and delivers them via email.
W2 forms are also available through Employee Self Service, under the Pay/Tax Information tab, by clicking on W2, selecting the Year, and clicking on View W2 Image. For assistance please contact payroll@mckinneyisd.net.

McKinney ISD employees, including substitutes, who are injured while working, should report the injury to the campus nurse before leaving for the day. If the campus nurse is not available, employees may reach out to Heather Davidson, HR Specialist – Leave/Workers’ Compensation at 469-302-4102 or hdavidson@mckinneyisd.net.
Employees should report injuries even if medical treatment is not required.
