A volunteer application is required for:
- School Volunteer (e.g., parents)
- REACH Mentors
- Student Teachers
- Observers
- Private Teachers
- Contracted Services
Application
Application
The application is a three-step process.
1) Register as a New User
If you have never submitted any type of application (employment or volunteer) you must register as a new user to create a User ID and a Password.
Once completed, you will receive an email notification confirming you have registered.
2) Complete and Submit an application
Login to start and submit an application for the appropriate category (Volunteer). This is the form in which you provide all your personal and contact information, location preference, etc.
Once completed, you will receive an email notification confirming your application was submitted.
3) Receive a notification of approval
The background check results are received in a few days, in most cases; however it may take up to two weeks.
Once the application is approved, you will receive an email with the subject "McKinney ISD - Volunteer Application Status" and a message indicating that "Your volunteer application has been approved".

SUBMITTED - If you submitted an application you will receive approval notification after the criminal background check has cleared. In most cases it takes a few days, but it could take up to two weeks.
Please ensure your application was submitted, applications started, but not submitted are retained for 72 hours. If not submitted before the end of the 72 hours, they are removed from the system. See TIPS below.
APPROVED - Volunteer applications are approved for the school year in which they are submitted. A new application is required to volunteer the following school year.

To submit it, click on the link of the pending application, complete any missing information, and go through the submit pages.

CONTRACTED SERVICES – Select this position if you will be paid for the work you are doing for the District on a contractual basis.
OBSERVER – Select this position if you are enrolled in a university or certification institution and need to complete student classroom observation or clinical observation hours. PRIVATE TEACHER – Select this position if you have been approved by the McKinney ISD Fine Arts Department to provide private lessons or be an accompanist.
REACH MENTOR – Select this option if you are interested in becoming a mentor with a McKinney ISD student. Click Here for program information. After submitting your application, please contact the Partners in Education department at 469-302-4108 for more details.

VOLUNTEER – Select this position is you do not fall under any of the above categories. (This is the option parents volunteering for school events should select).
