Learning Focus

Objectives

In Math, we will be reviewing concepts that we’ve learned throughout the year, such as, place value, composing/ decomposing, comparing/ ordering, number relationships, and rounding numbers.

In Science, we will discuss different types of soil and natural resources and ways to conserve them. 

Students will review and practice test taking strategies and written responses. We know they are going to do a wonderful job on STAAR! “Level Up” Day will be on Tuesday, April 9th! The students are invited to wear a “gaming shirt” or a sports themed shirt. We will have a variety of different review “games” on this day to prepare for STAAR on Thursday! 

students will explain the significance of various ethnic and/or cultural celebrations in the local community, and other communities. They will also compare ethnic and/or cultural celebrations in the local community with other communities.

In writing, we will use the RACES strategy to plan an extended constructed response.

Word Study: In our spelling unit, we will be reviewing all spelling patterns in the unit and continue practicing using them. 

Your student will bring home their list of words on Monday.

Grammar Study:  

We will explore word choice, including the best words to express what we want the reader to understand.
