7th Grade Math
Welcome to 7th grade math at MCMS! My name is Mr. Heck, and I will be your teacher for the 2023-24 school year. I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you, and we will learn, grow, and accomplish many things throughout the school year. About me
I graduated from Archbishop Hoban High School (Akron, Ohio) in in 2008 . I moved to southeast Georgia in January of 2012 and I have lived in the area ever since. In 2017, I completed a degree in applied mathematics from the College of Coastal Georgia in Brunswick and then I immediately entered the teaching profession.
In May of 2020, I completed a master's degree in secondary mathematics education from Columbus State University, which was a wonderful experience that greatly assisted my growth as an educator and as a leader. The 2023-24 school year will be my fifth year of teaching at MCMS and my seventh year of teaching overall. I am also the boys' head varsity soccer coach at McIntosh County Academy.
My interests include literature, geography, hiking, travelling, playing sports, and of course, math! I am an avid Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland sports fan. Outside of work, you can find me walking on the beach, reading, visiting friends, and enjoying the wonderful local southern cuisine.
