bienvenida a spanish I & II!

The link included here displays Units, Essential Questions, and the Georgia Standards of Excellence associated with these Units from the Spanish Thematic Units page of the GaDOE website: https://www.georgiastandards.org/Frameworks/pages/BrowseFrameworks/MLL-Spanish.aspx

Though these are not the particular units we'll be using, reading over them will give you a good, overall idea of what your student will learn in Spanish I and II.

We'll be using digital texts from the Expresate! curriculum for Spanish I & II. Because we'll be using digital texts, and since school-issued laptops are the only technology permitted in class, it's important that your student obtain his/her laptop at the very beginning of the semester, and that he/she bring the laptop to class every day, charged up, and ready to use. Below is a look at the digital texts they'll be using:

PBIS Rewards

Students earn points throughout the semester, for exhibiting positive behavior, by exhibiting one or more of the 3 R's (Respect, Responsible, Ready) and can "cash in" points for various rewards in my PBIS store (examples: wear a class sombrero for the class period, play Spanish-y games on Friday for the last 30 minutes of class, sit in the comfortable teacher chair for the block, positive call/parent contact).

About Sr. Cuttino

Saludos todos alumnos y familias! My name is Sr. Cuttino and I'll be teaching Spanish I and II this year. I was born in Florida and attended Georgia State University. I have 9 years of teaching experience and am certified to teach Spanish, ESOL, and French. Before teaching Spanish at MCA, I spent two years teaching students of migrant families through the Programa de Educacion Migrante, in which I used the Spanish language daily. I was also a virtual tutor for students who attended Nicaragua Christian Academy in Managua. My family enjoys spending time in Puerto Rico, La Republica Dominicana, and France, and my wife and I are avid "salseros" (salsa dancers)! I look forward to sharing my passion for the Spanish language and culture with MCA's students. Somos un Buc!
