Teaching Philosophy
As a physical education/health teacher and promoter for healthy lifestyles, my teaching philosophy is focused around providing students with the functional knowledge base for health and physical activity to live a healthy lifestyle when they leave my classroom. I do believe my class can inspire students to desire to be healthy, alter their perspective on physical exercise, and take action to improve their health.
I believe in leading by example. As a teacher you need to show students what being active and having healthy habits look like. I believe I have a higher chance of influencing my students' attitudes about health if I can show them how leading an active, healthy lifestyle can boost confidence and self-esteem, which in turn improves your entire well-being. I will cover a wide range of recreational and sports activities in my physical education sessions that encourage student individuality, teamwork, communication, and cooperation. I believe having the ability to work effectively with others is a very important talent to have, and physical education provides the ideal setting for students to practice this skill.
A long, healthy life depends on physical activity. I want to be sure that when they leave my class, they have a favorable perception of physical activity and a desire to live active, healthy lives for the rest of their lives. Any person who wants to be healthy needs to have the necessary functional knowledge and skills, regardless of the course they take in life.
