Dear Future Me (2031),
I’m writing this to you from five years ago. Right now, I have a lot of hopes for you and the life you’re living. By the time you read this, you’re 21 years old, and I hope you've finally reached a place where you feel stable not just financially, but mentally and physically too. I hope your life feels put together, and that you have a clear direction for your future.
One of my biggest dreams for you is that you either already have a career or are actively working toward it with confidence. I hope you found something you truly have passion for and enjoy doing every day. More than anything, I hope your life feels peaceful. Not perfect, but calm and fulfilling in a way that makes you feel proud of where you are.
I believe that by now, you’ve accomplished something really important to you becoming a doctor or at least being well on your way there. That dream means a lot, not just because of the career itself, but because you want to help people. I hope you're making a difference in others lives , helping them improve their health, and showing them care and compassion. I hope your work reflects the kind of person you’ve always wanted to be.
As a person, I hope you’ve grown into someone who is confident, displayed, and resilient. Life probably wasn’t easy getting where you are, but I hope you didn’t give up. I hope you learned how to push through challenges and stay focused on your goals. At the same time, I hope you
are kind , patient, and understanding, especially toward others , but also toward yourself. I hope you’ve learned how to stay calm under pressure and not let stress control you.
There are certain values I really hope you’ve held onto. I hope you still value your health, both mentally and physically, and that you take care of yourself no matter how busy it gets. I hope you value your peace of mind and don't allow unnecessary negativity in your life . I also hope
you stayed true to who you are, always being honest and working hard towards what you want. Helping others and making a difference is still something that should matter to you.
When it comes to people in your life , I hope you still have your family close to you. They’ve always been important, and I hope that hasn’t changed. I also hope you’ve kept the friends who
were real, loyal and supportive. The people who pushed you to be better and stood by you I hope they’re still there. Maybe you’ve met new people, people who bring positivity into your life and help you grow even more.
I don’t know exactly what life looks like right now, but I hope you're proud of yourself. Even if everything didn’t go as planned, I hope you kept going and didn’t give up. I hope you’ve learned that success isn’t just about reaching your goals, but about who you become along the way. If things get hard right now, I want you to remember why you started. Remember your dreams, your goals and the person you want to be.
Sincerely,
Jessenia Humala
