How to Create a Collaborative Post on Instagram
On Instagram, use the Invite Collaborator feature when appropriate to expand your reach and engage new audiences. A Collab post allows up to five accounts to co-author a single Feed post or Reel. Once the invited account accepts, the post can appear on both profiles, sharing likes, comments, and views across the collaborating accounts. This is different from simply tagging someone, which does not give the post the same shared visibility or engagement benefits.
Takeaway: Don't just post about your community. Create content with your community. That's how a local business spotlight can become a relationship, a shared audience, and eventually a referral opportunity.
Created to create, I love graphic design, bold typography, spicy food, the mountains, and things that are timeless. Faith and family are my heart. I enjoy quiet moments, a good book, a song that transcends, and getting lost for hours on a fun design project. Black is my happy color. Tacos my love language. Hoodies and sneakers are life.

The Art of the Collab—Grow Your Reach, Grow Your Business!
Your next client could be following someone else! Partnering with local influencers, businesses, and community personalities is a fun, effective way to reach new audiences and build your personal brand. From local food challenges to neighborhood spotlights and home makeover Reels, collaborations create shareable content that connects you with the community beyond real estate.
Make the Collab Count
A few tips for success:
Choose the right partner. Look for an audience that would genuinely enjoy your content, not just an account with a large following.
Make it mutually beneficial. Give both partners a reason to participate and something worthwhile to share.
Lead with value and entertainment. Create something people would watch even if they weren't shopping for a home.
Cross-promote. Share the content to Stories, tag partners appropriately, and engage with comments.
Build relationships beyond one post. Consistent partnerships can lead to referrals, repeat exposure, and future opportunities.
Stay compliant. Follow brokerage policies, applicable advertising rules, and required disclosures. Keep real estate claims accurate and avoid implying an endorsement that hasn't been given.
The Bottom Line: You don't have to be a full-time influencer to benefit from collaboration. Start with one local business, one shared idea, and one piece of content. The goal isn't simply more views—it's becoming a familiar, trusted name in the community you serve.
