McGowan Information Design Services was launched in January 2021 in response to the health information needs highlighted by the COVID-19 pandemic. We collaborate with NGOs, corporations, and government agencies to design, deploy, and assess health communication campaigns. Our deliverables include tools and curricula that help communities evaluate information quality and excel in identifying mis/dis/malinformation.
We specialize in mid to long-term partnerships. Our portfolio includes health communication campaigns that help a major university's medical school reach its rural, African American audience; a health data literacy curriculum developed for a major American publisher of educational content; and ongoing projects with the World Health Organization that support infodemic management training.
We strive for health equity in communities in the U.S. and across the globe, and our work centers on creating culturally-sensitive and culturally-relevant interventions most likely to have the greatest impact on behavior change.
