Welcome to World History! We will be exploring the series of revolutions that transformed Western Civilization and gave birth to the modern world. The course will focus on Europe during the period of time between the end of the Medieval Period and the fall of Napoleon. The course has four main units:

· Renaissance and Reformation

· Age of Exploration and the Scientific Revolution

· Absolutism and Enlightenment

· French Revolution and Napoleon

The class is designed to provide context for the modern world in which we live. During the second semester of World History, the focus will change from Western Civilization to the history of the different regions of the globe.
