School days
The NM preschool will offer a full-day program, 5 days a week serving children in foster care, kinship placed, or newly adopted. Children, families, and educators will work together to navigate through social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. At the NM Preschool, we believe establishing a safe and comfortable learning environment is of utmost importance. Teachers will foster young learners and provide them with a loving, nurturing classroom, strengthening both the children and their families.
A day in the life
Our students begin their school day at 8:30 am. They are dropped off at the door and greeted by staff as they make their way to their classrooms. A usual day for our students looks like this:
They do some morning activities and settle in for breakfast.
Once breakfast is wrapped up, they settle into the heart of our instructional time.
Kids attend circle time, play in centers, have small group time with their teachers, read books, and of course, play!
By noon, they’ve worked up an appetite and have lunch and slow down for some rest.
From there, it’s wrapping up with stories, songs and dance, and snack before they head home!
