2 Ideas of Learning

Our goal with EduMetrics is to have students and teachers think deeply about their learning. To simplify learning we have defined two ideas that drive and define all learning.

• Passions - Find passions and expand them to include related ideas or fields.
• Connections - Master content and transfer it to new situations/contexts

5 Areas of Learning

By shifting learning beyond a test and a grade, we believe that students and teachers will become more active and interested in the learning process. To help develop the learning process we have defined five areas that can be assessed, built upon and utilized to increase a student's ability to learn.

• Learning System - Confidence to use a systematic approach to learn anything.
• Create - Participate in the creation of new ideas in any environment.
• Joy - Find joy in work, play, discovery, and realizing potential.
• Relate - Develop and deepen relationships with peers, mentors, and mentees.
• Impact - Adapt, lead, and think for the good of communities global and local.

Every area has its own set of tools and metrics that can help teachers and students with their learning journey. Since every student has their own unique learning journey our hope is that this view of learning is never linear. Below is an example of how we believe the learning process can be viewed.
