Class overview
There are five domains to cover in the 5th Grade Math Standards:
1) Operations and Algebraic Thinking
2) Number and Operations in Base Ten
3) Number and Operations - Fractions
4) Measurement and Data
5) Geometry
*Domains 2 and 3 make up the majority of what we will work on throughout the year.

About Mr. Witkoski
This will be my 11th year teaching 5th grade math at Roosevelt.
This is my 12th year teaching overall - I taught 6th - 8th grade STEM classes at Youngstown Chaney in my first year of teaching.
I earned my degree from Youngstown State University, and my degree is in Math and Science for 4th - 9th grade.
I have my Master's from YSU in Administration.
I graduated from McDonald High School in 2001, and currently live in Howland with my family.
I have two kids who go to Howland Schools. My daughter is in 5th grade and my son is in 3rd grade this year!
My wife works for Akron Children's Hospital.
I used to coach football and track here at McDonald. I stopped when my kids were young, but I may get back into it someday.
I enjoy playing golf, hunting, and watching the Buckeyes and Browns in football season!
I help coach all my kids sports - flag football, baseball, softball, and soccer.
I love teaching and working with kids! Math can be a challenging subject, but I enjoy working with students and watching them progress in their understanding throughout the year!
