Summer School Registration Instructions: (8th Graders ONLY!)
Please refer to these instructions if your child has either failed their
8th Grade Algebra and/or Biology Class for the year
and/or has failed the Algebra and/or Biology Regents exam.
Due to the fact that the Middle Country School District is not offering summer school within the district, please review the options below and see which may apply to your student.
If your student has failed Algebra or Biology, they are eligible but not required to attend a summer school program:
Current 8th grade Students will be promoted to the high school, even if they do not attend summer school. They will however need to repeat the course in high school to recover credit to meet graduation requirements.
Any student who accrued 53 or more absences in any course cannot attend Summer Credit Recovery.
Please note, if you previously received a letter or phone call from a Science teacher indicating that your child did not complete the required lab minutes, they are not eligible to take the Biology Regents, not eligible for any Biology summer program, and will need to repeat the course in 9th grade.
