Parent/Guardian Information
SportsYou- Information will be shared through sportsYou. The join code is 5WRM-HMSL. Information will be duplicated on “Rooms” but SportsYou will be the main communication app.
Website- The Lady Bison Track & Field website hosts various information and updates as well as records and the Top 10 Chart. There is a link to the website on sportsYou.
Practice- Practice begins at 3:40 daily [including Wednesdays] and most athletes, depending on how many events they are involved in, will be done by 5:30-6:00. Many times athletes will be done with practice earlier than 5:30. There are some days that practice will be at different times because of the school calendar, those alternate times are shared on the website and will be posted in the locker room.
Pictures- Pictures will be Wednesday, March 12th at 2:15.
Track Clothing- Athletes will have order forms and there are links to order forms on the track website. There are a few options for clothing but nothing is mandatory. Some athletes worked concession stands so they will have an order form that lists what their t-shirt cost is after their shifts are deducted.
Meets- There are 8 varsity track meets plus 1 “best of” meet, as well as 5 junior varsity meets. The Coaching staff will determine which meets athletes attend and there may be times when the athlete is scheduled for 2 meets in a week. The first meet of the year is the UNK Indoor and a limited number of athletes attend. The first meet that most athletes will attend is Aurora on Friday, March 28th- which allows us to enter 5 athletes in each event. The first JV/ Varsity meet is the LeRoy Hoehner meet here at McCook and everyone that can- will compete on Friday, April 4th. Please remember that at meets only athletes and coaches are allowed on the infield after field events are complete, and there are some meets that restrict access even more.
Meet Schedules- Generally specific meet schedules and information will be posted/linked on sportsYou and the website. Updates for meet time changes or postponements will be shared via sportsYou.
Travel- Transportation to and from meets is usually on a bus for our team. If athletes are traveling home with parents there will be a sign-out sheet with a coach at the meet. Athletes can not be released to anyone other than a parent at the meet, if there needs to be alternate transportation to or from the meet- a form must be completed before the day of the meet.
Contacting Coaches- Please feel free to contact coaches through sportsYou or by email if you have any questions or concerns.
