Geordie English, (Yr 12) is thrilled to be playing William Shakespeare in Shakespeare in Love, last sen as ‘Grandpa Joe’ in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (MCC 2024) and various roles in the 39 Steps (2024) before that he was Sabben in Long Tan (MCC 2023) and ‘chaos’ in the Crimson Firefly Circus (2022) Geordie has also participated in a Stage Management course and the ‘One Week Project’ work experience course at Canberra Theatre Centre. Geordie hopes you enjoy the show as much as he has.

Viola De Lesseps
Emma Piva, (Yr 12 Canberra Girls Grammar) is excited to be performing in Shakespeare in Love as ‘Viola De Lesseps’ in her first Marist College production. She is a true performer and loves nothing more than entertaining. Emma was most recently selected as one of four recipients of the John Bell Scholarship at the beginning of the year and in February she won the CAT Award for Best Youth Actress in a Leading Role for her part as ‘Jo March’ in Little Women (Canberra Girls’ Grammar, 2024). She has also appeared in the world premier of Work But This Time Like You Mean It (Canberra Youth Theatre, 2024) and The Little Mermaid as ‘Jetsam’ (Canberra Girls’ Grammar, 2023) for which she was nominated for a CAT award. She hopes to do the strong character of Viola justice and that you enjoy the show!

Archie Tutton, (Yr 11) is excited to be part of Shakespeare in Love as Christopher Marlowe. He was most recently seen in his performances of “Laurie” in Little Women (Canberra Girls Grammar, 2024) and The Battle of Long Tan ( Marist College Canberra, 2023). Archie is currently enrolled in the Young Actors Assembly (Sydney) which has produced industry ready actors who have moved into professional stage and screen careers. He is also a proud member of Australian Academy Cinema Television Arts (AACTA). He hopes you have a great time and enjoys the the show!

Oscar O'Halloran, (Yr 12 & College Vice-Captain) plays “bad boy” Lord Wessex. Oscar last “graced” the stage as the beloved Dick Hannay in ‘The 39 Steps’, (MCC, 2024) after his performance of Jerry Jubilee and the rotten Mr. Green in ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’. (MCC, 2024) He has previously been seen as Colonel Townsend in ‘Long Tan’ (MCC, 2023) and in ‘The Crimson Firefly Circus’. (MCC, 2022) Oscar was a Student Director of ‘The Marist TV and Movie Extravaganza’. (MCC, 2023) Oscar is excited to participate in his final production and hopes you love the show!

Sir Robert De Lesseps
Jack Berg, (Yr 12) is one half of the dynamic duo of Bergy and Roz, who is stoked to have the opportunity to play ‘Sir Robert De Lesseps’ in this year’s production of Shakespeare in Love. Between Div 1 and JPL basketball, AFL and coaching he doesn’t have a lot of shows credited to his name but is an avid performer after getting experience in the ensemble of St Clares’ High School Musical (as the worm) and St Clares’ Mamma Mia as ‘Sky’ (the guy in the stunning wedding dress). After taking a step back from acting to direct the almost award winning 39 Steps, he is ready to come back to the stage and get his act on to contribute to such an awesome-sauce show.
LILA JOHNSON
Nurse
Lila Johnson, (Yr 12 St. Clare’s College), is thrilled to be part of her first Marist College production and to share her love of theatre with the audience. From a young age, she has loved performing and found freedom through it, embracing every opportunity to sing, dance, and act. She previously played Kelsi in the 2023 STCC productions of High School Musical and Lisa in Mamma Mia! in 2024. Having lived overseas, she also had the opportunity to perform in multiple musicals, including Seussical. She is excited to bring this production to life, playing the role of Nurse, and hopes you love the show.
SOPHIE HART
Queen Elizabeth/Meg
Sophie Hart, (Yr 12 St Clare’s College) has loved musical theatre from a very early age and has been involved in many of the musicals at her school and the Canberra theatre community. In 2022, she debuted as ‘Serena’ in Legally Blonde at St Clare’s College. In 2023, she starred in the role of ‘Princess Fiona’ in Shrek the Musical Jr, where she was nominated for 2 Ovation awards and a CAT award for Best Leading Actress. In 2024, she played ‘Harry’ in Mamma Mia! at St Clare’s, and ‘Mrs Teevee’ in The Marist College production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. She was involved in The 39 Steps at Marist as well, playing ‘Pamela’ & ‘Annabella’, and she cannot wait to be a part of another Marist production, this time as ‘Queen Elizabeth I’, ‘Meg’, and ‘Kate’. Sophie is a passionate performer who hopes to bring a smile to your face whilst doing what she loves the very most!

Edward Murphy, (Yr 11, Eddie to his friends), is a passionate performer. He is excited to be performing in another Marist College production. Edward has been in several musicals and productions including, Charlie and the Chocolate factory as Mike Teevee (Marist College, 2024), Mamma Mia as Eddie (St Clare’s college, 2024), High School Musical as Zeke (St Clare’s College, 2023), Long Tan as Gordon sharp (Marist College, 2023), The Wizard of Oz as Ensemble (Ickle Pickle Productions, 2022), The Crimson Firefly Circus as Alphonso (Marist College, 2022), Rock Bottom as Cliff (Holy Family, 2019) and Grease: The Arena Experience and a backup dancer (2018). Edward is also currently working on High School Musical 2 Jr as Ryan (Piped Piper, 2025). Edward is so happy to be playing the role of Henslowe in Marist’s production and he has loved every minute of it, and he hopes you like it as much as he does.

Tilney
Will Cains, (Yr 11) is playing the role of “Frees” and “Master Tilney”. This is his first major Marist College production, but he has been involved with drama at school performing in the 2024 Come Alive Theatre Festival and was a stage hand in the 2022 Little Brothers production “The Crimson Firefly”. Outside of drama you can see Will cooking on the basketball court or listening to Voodoo by D’Angelo. He is excited to perform for you and wishes that you enjoy the show.

William Burgmeister (Yr 11) has landed the role of “Ned Alleyn”. Will was last seen last in the Marist College production “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory: the New Musical” playing Grandma Georgeina. He has also been behind the scenes for “The Twits”, “The 39 steps” and “The Marist TV and Movie Extravaganza”. Will hopes it's a memorable show and you have a great time watching.

Oscar Smit, (Yr 12) has finally escaped the lighting desk for a major Marist College production! After regaining his confidence as underwear salesman 2 in ‘The 39 Steps’ (MCC, 2024) Oscar is ready to take on a full-blown production. You may be familiar with the bubbles used during ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’, you probably found yourself wondering, “woah! Who did that?” Well, it was Oscar! Brace yourselves darlings! Because after that and some more experience behind the desk for ‘Long Tan’ (MCC, 2023) the sensational Oscar is about to set the stage ablaze as the irresistibly dazzling, utterly entrancing, and fabulously stuttering Wabash! Good luck to Oscar and hopefully his performance is better than it was in ‘The Crimson Firefly Circus’. (MCC, 2022)
CHARLIE LEVERETT
Richard Burbage
Charlie Leverett, (Yr 10) is playing ‘Burbage’, in the production. Charlie has been involved in the 2023 Marist Little Brothers performance, and performed at the Canberra Theatre as part of the “2024 Act Up Festival.” This is first main role in a Big Brothers Marist College production. Charlie plays also basketball and enjoys sports. He hopes you enjoy the show.
NICK CURTIS
Fennyman
Nick Curtis (Yr 11) is thrilled to experience his first production at Marist College and is overjoyed he is able to play the role of ‘Fennyman’. Nick has been involved in several Canberra wide ‘in-class drama performances’ which include the ‘Come Alive Theatre Festival’ and ‘Act Up 2024’ in Year 10. Nick takes part in the Vox choir group at school every Friday afternoon and has spent many hours dedicated to different Arts since a young age. He hopes you delight in the show as much as he enjoys acting in it.
COOPER TOWNS
Ralph
Cooper Towns, (Yr 11) is exhilarated to be playing ‘Ralph’ in Shakespeare in Love. This is his first major Marist production, yet he has performed at the ‘Come Alive Theatre Festival’ and at the Canberra Theatre for ‘Act Up 2024’ theatre festival. Cooper is a passionate and inspiring actor and has many hobbies such as snow sports, surfing and field hockey. Cooper has spent many hours after school studying the play, rehearsing, and memorising his lines in the production. Cooper hopes you enjoy the show as much as he does, and wishes you have a great time at Shakespeare in Love.
HOLLY MERE
Molly/Trudy
Holly Mere, (Yr 10 Melrose High School) is thrilled to be involved in Shakespeare In Love, where she is serving as Dance Captain and playing the roles of Molly and Trudy. Holly first appeared on stage at just four years old in Lisa Clark Dance Centre’s The Twelve Dancing Princesses. She has since won seven dance achievement awards, nine ballet championships, and numerous medals - 5 bronze, 12 silver and 25 gold. Holly has also completed the Australian Ballet School’s Interstate Training Program, made the finals in the Australian Classical Challenge, and competed in many prestigious competitions such as the Youth America Grand Prix, the Alana Haines Australasian Awards in New Zealand, and the Asian Grand Prix Finals in Bangkok. Holly was last seen as Amy March in Canberra Girls’ Grammar School’s production of Little Women. She is excited to be part of such an incredible cast and hopes you love the show!
SAM CAINS
Master Quickly/Novice Actor
Sam Cains, (Yr 11) is playing the role of “Master Quickly” and “Sampson”. This is his first major Marist College production, but he has been involved with Drama and enjoys performing. Outside of Drama you can see Sam playing video games and listening to too much music for his own good. He is excited to perform for you and wishes that you love the show as much as he has.
JAKE HUGHES
John Webster
Jake Hughes, (Yr 10) is playing the role of “John Webster” and the “Dog master. Jake's first major Marist production was ‘The Marist TV and Movie Extravaganza’. (MCC, 2023) where he was one of the narrators, Fat Sam and several other roles. He was also seen in (Act Up 2024) and was last seen in ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ (MCC, 2024) as Augustus Gloop. Jake was also involved in several different Marist productions last year, he was the “Dumb waiter” in ‘Dumb Waiter’ and was lighting designer and operator for ‘The Twits’ (MCC, 2024) Jake hopes you enjoy the play!

Rory Basham, (Yr 10) is playing The Bartender, Adam and the Rower. This is his first main stage Marist College production. He has performed in Act Up 2024. He also plays Division 1 Basketball and is a proper sharp shooter, and under the Coaching of Jack Berg, we strive for greatness by winning an undefeated season in the Big 2025
ZAC THEWLIS
Sam
Zac Thewlis, (Yr 11) is very excited to play the role of “Sam”who plays the role of “Juliet”. He performed in the Act Up (2023) and Come Alive Theatre (2024) festivals and is shooting his first ever official role for the screen in early May. This is Zac’s first co-curricular Marist College production and is looking to expand his knowledge and love of drama.
XAVIER SAMS
Peter/Actor
Xavier Sams, (Yr 10) is playing ‘Peter’ and ‘Novice actor roles’. This is his first Marist College production. Xavier also loves basketball and has represented Marist and ACT Basketball. It’s brilliant to see him combing his love of sport and drama! He hopes you love the show and you will see him again on the theatre boards and basketball boards soon!
ALEX TAYLOR
Finley Tilney
Alex Taylor, (Yr 12), is excited to present his take on the “Lord in training” Filney, who alongside his Father, Tilney is planning to whip up some challenges for the cast of Shakespeare's new play! This is Alex’s first role in a major Marist College production. Alex has plenty of experience performing in the Act Up Theatre Festival (2022) and “The 39 Steps” (2024). When not performing you can find Alex playing Dungeons & Dragons and Hockey with his mates. Enjoy the show!
LOUKAS CRAMER
Sir Robert De Lesseps (Friday night)
Loukas Cramer (Yr 11) is very excited to be playing ‘Sir Robert De Lesseps’ in Shakespeare in Love. Loukas has been involved in many performances around Canberra. He was last seen on stage last year as ‘Mr Salt’ in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Marist College, 2024). Some of his other features included playing ‘Ripper’ in High School Musical (St Clare's College, 2023) and ‘Christos de Rivera y Ladrone’ in The Crimson Firefly Circus (Marist College, 2022). Behind the stage, Loukas has also stage-managed at the Canberra Theatre for the ACT UP! Theatre festival in 2024. Loukas is a passionate football player and plays Premier League for Tuggeranong United Football Club. Loukas is excited to be taking on the new experience of being the understudy for ‘Sir Robert De Lesseps’, and he hopes you enjoy the show!
JACKSON KOCH
Nol and Novice Actor
Jackson Koch, (Yr 11) is thrilled to be playing ‘Nol’. This marks his second Marist College production, following his role in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory 2024 as ‘Grandpa George’. Jackson is an active member of Marist’s choir, Vox, which rehearses after school on Fridays, and he has also been involved in multiple productions outside of Marist.
