Climate Change: Expedition Kick-Off

The 8th grade science teachers are excited to kick-off the science side of our expedition.

Mission of the Expedition

Climate change is one of the most pressing problems facing us today. In ELA, you've already done some learning and thinking about what the world will look like if climate change continues. From wildfires to heat waves to sea level rise and more, the impact of human choices on the world we live in is only getting more extreme. The good news is that many people are working to create and implement solutions to slow climate change and decrease its effects. Their efforts can succeed with our help!

In this expedition, we'll explore this question: "The Earth is on FIRE! What are we going to do about it?"

We'll learn about the science behind both climate change and the solutions people are coming up with, and then create a public awareness campaign about one of those problems and solutions.

In this kickoff, you'll start to learn more about how human impact on the climate is changing life throughout the globe.
