Those taking this one-semester course will have the opportunity to take the College Board AP exam that is offered in May. Cost of the exam will be the responsibility of the student. Advanced Placement United States Government develops analytical perspectives on government and politics in the United States. The course involves the study of general 105 concepts used to interpret U.S. politics and the analysis of specific case studies. It requires familiarity with the various institutions, groups, beliefs and ideas that constitute U.S. political reality. Writing skills have been incorporated into the class as preparation for the AP exam.
