Introduction
This instructional unit has a very specific purpose; to wrap everything up in one single file rather than a multitude of different programs. This is crucial for any and all professional needs. Going through multiple different programs and/or files is not ideal by any means. Simplicity is key. Each reference used up until this point will be strategically placed in this instructional unit, so that no guessing or complicated transitions need to take place.
Instructional Goal
Learners will add 3 advanced elements to a PowerPoint.
Instructional Strategy
Pre-instructional Activities
Learner will watch YouTube video called "PowerPoint: Inserting Pictures".
Learner will watch YouTube video called "PowerPoint: Animating Text and Objects".
Learner will watch YouTube video called "PowerPoint: Applying Transitions".
Content Presentation
The learner will first be explained to what the purpose of adding extra elements to a presentation is. Also, students will understand what animations and transitions are. The learner will then watch three videos on how to implement each element into their PowerPoint presentation.
Learner Participation
The learner will have the three videos as a reference tool throughout the assignment. Students will also be guided and assisted throughout the completion of the project. Students will be able to practice each desired animation and transition in order to ultimately choose the one they favor.
Assessment
Pre-Assessment:
Learner will follow checklist with expected goals.
Post-Assessment:
Learner will complete project and submit as a test grade.
Follow-through Activities
The learner will have the provided YouTube videos as a reference throughout the completion of the assignment. Also, the learner will have continuation of practice and completion so that retention is assured as well as the ability to transfer considerations. The learner will learn and understand how this skill is essential in education and in the workforce regardless of the position you hold. The learner is expected to complete a one page essay explaining how and why learning PowerPoint skills is essential.
Media Selection & Delivery System
The assignment and necessary references will be provided in person with the use of a smart tv. This is necessary because the learner must be able to view the necessary materials in a whole-group setting as well as having personal access to the provided resources. Instruction will be delivered in person by instructor. Instructor will be available throughout the entire process in order to provide context as well as forms and reasoning of implementation for the given required elements.
